Arjay
What would cause the potlights in the media room to flicker occasionally? Only since C4 went in has this begun happening. Any suggestions?
RyanE
Electronic dimmers operate by turning the power on and off very quickly.Depending on the type of lights, this will occasionally cause the filament in the bulbs to vibrate slightly, which will cause a slight flicker. The easiest way to overcome this is to purchase bulbs with a beefier internal construction, such as 'construction bulbs', or a different brand.RyanE
Arjay
There is a scene of 8 potlights in the room, they will simultaneously flicker on and off from both an 'on' state and an 'off' state.
RyanE
Sounds like in that case, I'd suspect a wiring issue. Are they *incandescent* lights, or are they something like fluorescents in the cans?RyanE
isanabria
I have the same problem all over my house, with either standard bulbs (25w) and/or spots (50w) (incandescent in both scenarios). More specifically, when manually handling a dimmer to set lights at 50% (say) no flickering happens at all. However, when going this programmatically, once lights are on, flickering happens seldomly but rather frenquently. This behavior discards wiring issues on my setting.Any idea about a possible cause and solution?
