Dueport
Wondering if anyone has gotten Apple Fitness+ working with an Apple Watch in one room and the Apple TV in a distant video matrix? I was thinking about adding an Apple TV into our video matrix to do this but the TV we'd use this on is far away from the rack with the video matrix. Reading Apple's setup for linking Apple Fitness+ with the Apple Watch it says "To start a workout on Apple TV, your Apple Watch must be updated to watchOS 7.2 or later, be unlocked, and have Bluetooth turned on." So presumably, there always needs to be a bluetooth connection between the watch and the Apple TV - so if you've got the Apple TV in a distant rack from the TV it isn't going to work. Looking to see if anyone has experience doing this that confirms or contradicts that conclusion?
pkkaiser
I have been trying to figure this out for a while. I have the set updescribed, latest ATV in rack to Leaf 8x8 and I cannot get Apple fitness to start unless I walk over to the rack with my apple watch, otherwise no bueno...Thanks Apple! Shoot I was afraid of that - thanks for the insight though - it is frustrating they didn't use WiFi rather than Bluetooth for the watch to ATV connection. Guess the only answer is to put an ATV behind the TV you're using for workouts. But in my case that TV is wall mounted and doesn't have the space for an ATV behind it.....too bad..... pkkaiser
Exactly...then run the audio back to the rack for the speakers. Apple's fault for trying to tie up the everything around their system...On the bright side, apple fitness is actually pretty good Dueport
