AnOutsider
So, as I posted last year, my Matrix went out and I couldn't get ahold of my dealer to come address. I couldn't find another Binary HD-300 so I switched to an HD-520 and then also updated the receivers to match. Of the 7 TVs updated, only 2 of them are actually getting picture. For the other outputs, none of the "Link" lights illuminate (neither on the receiver or the matrix). I've checked that it's not the receivers as I can swap between them on the TVs (I can use a receiver from a non-working TV and move it to a TV that IS working and it will still work), so I'm guessing it's related to the actual endpoints. My first though was something with the run distance -- but that doesn't track, because aside from it working with the other HD-300 series, 2 of the locations working are much farther than the others and is equidistant from another that's not working (adjoining bedrooms). My next thought is maybe something is up with the cables themselves? We still don't know what took out our HD-300, but assuming a power surge, could that have done damage to the cat cables? chopedogg88
did you buy a used 520 matrix? could be bad?
AnOutsider
Hey, thanks for popping in. The one I got was new in box and swapping the outputs in the back to another cat cable actually shifts the green link light, so I assumed the issue was at the endpoints. I did figure out 2 issues last night. One I think was a bad receiver. It was making noises and things worked when I swapped it out. Another had a bad power supply. So that's 2 more online. Guess I just gotta figure out what's the issue at the other endpoints
