Seeking quotes for programming a new install

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm brand new to this forum and don't know if this is the best place to post this or not.  If not, mods, feel free to move it for me.

I'm strongly considering going with a Control4 setup for my home.

I'd start with my home theater (plus a few other simple lighting fixtures [and outside doorbells] outside the theater mainly in the lobby and arcade) and then upgrade and add to the rest of the house over time, one room at a time, due to budget concerns since the initial equipment cost will be significant and I want to make sure Control4 will work for me before investing in the whole house.

I'm thinking of purchasing a used EA5-V2 for the controller.

Before I commit, I need to get an estimate on what it would cost to integrate and set up / program all my devices.

I can provide a specific and complete equipment list to anyone interested in giving me a quote, but basically, I'd want to integrate the following:

2 or 3 August/Yale Door Locks
15 ONVIF Cameras (Currently using Blue Iris but looking to possibly switch to a NAS or Dedicated NVR such as Hikvision or something similar that has good Control4 integration)
2 Ring doorbells (or may upgrade to Control4 Chime units or something similar if necessary)
Insteon lighting and appliance plug-in modules (may upgrade to Control4 lighting/appliance plug-in modules if absolutely necessary)
Thermostat (Insteon, but will upgrade to something else if not compatible)
Home Theater A/V equipment, projector, pre-amp, DirecTV, etc.
Movie server (Dune HD or Zidoo depending on which one has the best integration)

Two iPad's/Android tablets with some way to get full Intercom access/support if possible (may upgrade to T3 or T4 touch panels)
Roon/Qobuz integration (if not built in or PC controllable, then I could purchase a Sonos Port or something similar)

I'd want all these devices fully integrated with scenes, automation, etc.  I'd like to control everything from a PC, if at all possible, with full Intercom functions, then have the touchscreens as secondary control devices.

I'd also like to be able to have push notifications and pop ups show up on the projector via HDMI overlay when certain events happen, such as someone ringing the doorbell, an alarm of some kind, a camera detects motion, etc, and would eventually like to extend this to all the other TV's in the house, as well.

Finally, I'd like to work with someone that would let me have access to Composer so I could make my own tweaks (once the initial programming is done and I learn how to use it, of course).

Please let me know if you're interested in working with me and please provide a rough quote for the programming so I can see if this is even feasible right now.  I'm on a relatively tight budget and don't want to waste anyone's time.  I'm going to try my best to use (or purchase) as much equipment that has native Control4 support/integration as possible so as little custom programming/drivers as possible are needed, hoping to make the programming and setup straightforward, quick, and easy.

I'll provide a complete list of equipment upon interest/request.

If you have any used equipment (or other great deals) for anything mentioned above, be sure to let me know!

I'd prefer you email me directly at jevansoh at gmail dot com for the fastest response as I'm brand new to the forum and not here often yet.

Thanks,

--Jason

Just a heads up, Installers can't give you access to composer pro without violating agreements with control4.

They could give you access to composer HE which is similar however you will be unable to add new devices or modify connections (just program existing ones). Composer HE is cheap though.

Depending on your requirements though, you can also do some things via the when>>then web interface if you subscribe to 4sight
