PistonPants
Hello, I have an older Control4 system and everything seemed to work fine until today. My audio matrix switch appears to be dead (C4-16S2-E-B) the screen won’t show anything and it’s like it’s not getting power (it is, I’ve tested that). I can find a used one for $200 online so I’m considering grabbing that. The question I have is whether it’s plug and play - can I just replace the unit without a dealer by moving over the wiring or do I need to get my dealer to do some type of programming? I’m not totally against getting my dealer to help but I just think it’ll be about 3 weeks before they can come and they are flaky on the best of days. thanks for any help! SpencerT
Likely the power supply. Easy fix if you're handy. https://www.c4forums.com/search/?&q=Power supply&search_and_or=and If you replace it, you will likely need to get your dealer involved. If you go the replacement route, I strongly suggest reaching out to one of the many great remote dealers on this forum.
Cyknight
The only 'programming' for a like to like replacement is going to be identifying it into the system. Will take longer to connect remotely than to actually do the job, especially if you ensure beforehand that the unit is set to DHCP (possible from front panel) - if you have no current dealer or a local one that can do this remotely, there's plenty of 'looking for integrator' to use on here. PistonPants
Thanks, this is helpful. I'll look at a Power Supply replacement and will also consider a remote dealer going forward- I had never considered that. Apprecaite the support SpencerT and Cyknight!
