acervantes
A security company has installed the Ademco VistaBP panel and necessary RS232 device so that I can see the security system in composer and on all my devices. The question is that I am unable to control it. I can get status feed back showing when the alarm is ready, when it is armed and disarmed but I cannot control it through any of my panels or thru composer. Also, I noticed that the zones monitored (in composer) show '0' and permanent user number is also '0'. Should the C4 system be able to pull all of this directly from the security panel on its own? If so, how. What am I missing...

JR
My experience with it only communicating one way was because of improper pinout, only the RXD, TxD and SG are used DB9 pin 2=Rxd 3=TxD 5=GD DB25 3=RxD 2=TxD 7=GD and then there is also some extra programming for the alarm panel to enable home control, honeywell has a troublshooting guide that explains everything and your dealer should be able to get it by logging into mywebtech or calling tech support and asking them to email it. The number of monitored zones should be set I only use the 250FBP when connecting to a C4 system and there is no permanent user number that I have seen in the driver.http://www.c4forums.com/uploads.php?file=home%20control%20docs.pdfhttp://www.c4forums.com/uploads.php?file=rs232%20troubleshooting.pdf
