thecodeman
WHAT, is really a ZAP?It's like a wireless hot spot, for your zigbee mesh.WHY & WHEN, would I need to use a ZAP?Based on the number of mesh devices, the geographical layout of the mesh, construction materials, interference in the 2.4ghz range. You only need them in a zigbee pro (1.8+) environment.HOW, do you make a device a ZAP?A dealer can make a controller with a zigbee radio a zap with the zigbee configuration tools in ComposerPro.And when device is made into a ZAP, has it been stripped down of it real performance, or is it adding to it?You take a way a percentage of performance based on what total services the controller is providing (navigator, streaming audio, etc). It can improve the performance and resiliency of your mesh when configured properly.
