getafix
Have a Dune on the way. All my movies are on a NAS. What is the best way to format a HDD to be used on a NAS that the Dune will access. Ext, NTFS etc
dgbrown
Typically the NAS appliance will handle the formatting of the drives based on what it (the NAS appliance) needs. Depending on what software it's running it will likely be ext3/ext4 or ntfs (these file systems support file sizes in excess of 4GB which will be important for video). The actual file system on the NAS is abstracted from the client systems that mount those drive shares over the network - typically via SMB or NFS.What NAS are you planning on using ? diamonddesign
Correct and because the movies are already on your nas, the answer is don't touch anything and you'll be fine. Use a C4 driver or navigate directly to it via the dune interface.
