Newbie trying to program something simple

For some reason when my receiver comes on it always starts up with the surround sound on "all channel". I like it on THX cinema.

I thought I could go to programing, select receiver on the left side. I have it looking like this:

When Family-->Receiver turns On

-->delay 10 seconds

-->Set surround sound mode to Surround - THX on the Family->Receiver

What am I doing wrong? When I hit execute to test it everything works, but when I turn the room off and start it up by hitting "watch" everything comes on but the surround sound doesn't switch.

maybe your receiver never turns off.............maybe its in standby mode...........just a thought

I know the receiver is off so it can't be that. Or at least I am pretty sure. I will double check it tonight.

As of now I had to create a button to swap the listening mode. It works like that but it sure would be nice for it to start up just the way I want.

Let's address this in a better way:

What receiver do you currently have?

Does it have the option to start with "use last surround mode" or "a preset for surround for each source that it defaults to"

These are questions that may help you solve your issue.

Denon does this and maybe you have a Denon...

Assigning Listening Modes to Input

Sources

You can assign a default listening mode to each input

source that will be selected automatically when you

select each input source. For example, you can set the

default listening mode to be used with Dolby Digital

input signals. You can select other listening modes during

playback, but the mode specified here will be

resumed once the AV receiver has been set to Standby.

BAM!

Done......:)

Wow you are awesome!!!!

I have been living with this for years. I even took it back to the dealer I bought it from and they couldn't fix it!! I knew I outgrew that dealer, makes me glad I didn't go to them for Control4. Thanks again!
