Home Screen Temperature as a programming variable

The home screen has the current outside temperature. How do I use that as a variable in programming? Several outside lights are programmed to come on 20 minutes after sunset, but would prefer that some only come on if the temperature is below say 50 degrees F. The lights on the porch and by the front doors just attract to many bugs in the warmer months or if we have had a few hot days even in November and December. The data is there, how do I get it and use it?

I don't believe that's currently available to program with. I agree that it should be available and would hope that it is in a future revision.
