1. I just got a new Jandy pool system. My old pool system had no automation other than that the pool light was controlled via a normal Control4 wall switch. I have the Control4 Jandy iAquaLink driver and it works well with the new system, but I would love to be able to turn the lights on using the existing wail switch which, of course, is not connected to the new lights as they are connected to the Jandy. Does the Control4 Jandy iAquaLink driver allow one to have a Control4 wall switch control the pool lights via the iAquaLink? If not, will a third party driver allow that? If not, any suggestions? I'd rather not have to install the Control4 app on our guests' phones just so they can turn on the pool lights and I really would not want to have to install the iAquaLink app on their phones either. I know that Control4 touch screens are a possibility but I no longer have any functioning ones (all five are no longer supported) and would rather not buy one just to be able to turn the pool lights on and off.

2. Some of the Holovision units are available with Doorbird guts if you want a different look or finish. Other of their units also purport to support Control4.

I have a 14-year-old analog Holovision unit whose camera gave up the ghost a few weeks ago in the 113F heat and I'm looking for a replacement as well that will integrate with Control4.

3. hunger (If you haven't already) Could you email app logs to appsupport@control4.com with your make and model of the camera it crashes on. We did change out the iOS camera rendering engine at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, some (mostly older) cameras experienced issues. The easiest way to email logs is to go in the app to Settings > Preferences (image.png.ea546dee7bec640cd4d18a325ec40607.png) > Email Logs.

Thanks! I have done so.

4. Hi. Could you do something about the slow startup time of the iOS app on os 3.1.xx using 4sight. The new iOS update made it better but it still takes over 20 seconds to connect remotely.

on os 2.xx using vpn it was instantaneous. What’s the point of paying for a 4sight service when it’s so slow to start...

From initial launch mine takes about six seconds to connect and the screen to appear over a cellular connection which, from what I remember, was about the same under 2.x.

5. Hi Jonathan,

I am thrilled that you have volunteered to get involved. It's really painful for customers when issues are encountered that are likely beyond the purview of a dealer to address.

My issue is regarding camera integration. The iOS version of the Control4 app for version 3.x frequently (>95%) crashes when tapping on a camera image to bring up a live view. Using Xcode and downloading the crash logs, it is crashing in SurgeiOS, which I suspect may be https://github.com/Jounce/Surge. The Android version does not crash and displays the video as expected. I am using three channels of an Axis M7014 four-channel SD video encoder with analog cameras and an Axis M1025 camera.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, etc.

This is not a new problem. It  was a problem that I had hoped would go away when upgrading from 2.x to 3.x but did not. I don't recall when it started happening but it was a quite a while ago when upgrading the iOS Control4 2.x app from one version to another.

I can send you the crash dump to if you like. I didn't want to attach it just in case it contained anything that should be private.

Henry

P.S. It also crashes on iOS 13.3 with a SIGSEGV in thread 0 but I did not want to bother you with that.

6. Although the Speaker Point still appears to be available,  https://www.control4.com/solutions/products/speaker-points/ , I have read it is no longer supported in OS 3.0.

Do you know if the Control4 4-Zone Matrix Amplifier (C4-8AMP1-B) (https://www.control4.com/solutions/products/amplifiers-and-receivers/) is still supported in OS 3.0?

I have the audio matrix switch so assuming I can route the decoded stream from an EA-n or an HC-800 to the matrix switch, I would think that I could feed the matrix amp. I think that would be a lot cheaper than getting four Triad One devices.

7. Yes, the 'Advanced Audio' (OS 2.10+/3.0) version of the SpeakerPoint is the Triad One.
Much better audio quality and better power output as well.

So I am trying to learn more about the Triad products to replace my SpeakerPoints but when I click on the download spec links for them on the C4 web site it asks me to provide dealer login credentials. Seems strange that I would need to be a dealer to learn more about C4 products I am contemplating buying.

8. My TV's firmware is up to date. I contacted Sony when the symptoms first appeared but since the TV is more than two years old it is out of warranty and Sony will only provide out-of-warranty service which is basically the community boards. Doing a Google search reveals lots of other people experiencing the same symptoms.

9. I've been having the same problems with my XBR-75X850C for quite some time. I unplug the TV and plug it back in again and it works for a short amount of time and then vanishes from the network. I see the same symptoms regardless of whether Ethernet or Wi-Fi. It is the only device on the network that is having issues.

10. I have four collocated speaker points with which I am using audio streams sourced over the network, for which I assume the speaker points have some type of built-in decoder. Since it appears that the software on the speaker points is no longer being updated, I am concerned that they are going the way of my mini touch screens. I am considering replacing the speaker points with a Control4 matrix amplifier. If my assumptions regarding the speaker points are correct, do the Control4 matrix amplifiers have built-in decoders for each pair of channels like the speaker points, in which case the matrix amplifier would be a suitable replacement?
