I honestly do not know - so I am asking, but the "alternatives" to C4 (to me) are Crestron, Savant, Elan, URC....do they have required fees?  I am not poking the bear, I am really just inquiring because I am curious.

Are there "free" dealer based solutions that as custom installer would sell?  To me the free things are more amazon/big box store offerings but I could be wrong

I believe only Savant has fees for certain things.

This room off confirmation has to get fixed ASAP. I'm not sure how this made it past Day 1 QA without at least making it selectable.

I like the confirmation request. Accidentally turning the room off is a pain.

Imagine having a projector or something with a long power on/off time.

However there should be an option to turn off or on the confirmation.

Yes I’m using everything that came with it; USB charger, base, cable, etc.

After contacting my C4 supplier, since it’s still on warranty, they are replacing it.

It will be a brand new unit. Now I need to decide whether to keep it or sell it.

    Anyone interested?

They’ll have to return the bad unit for the warranty replacement.

  4. Im a dealer and typically use IR on cable boxes for reliability. Today had a Comcast X4 box that has been giving lots of issues with IR control for the last few weeks. Didnt matter where we moved the IR emitter it would eventually start missing commands.

Gave up and said ill use the IP driver since its a compatible box. The setup is really annoying.

I also had the issue where after following the steps the IP address and MAC were empty. Figured I would just get the MAC from the back of the box and look it up on my router to get IP.

Looked for the MAC on my router and it wasnt there... Yet the ethernet port was working.

Finally took a while and figured it out. In the SETUP menu of the box youll see something that says device or similar. In there youll see 3 MAC addresses. They are showing the IPV6 address. None of them will correspond with the MAC on the rear of the unit.

Found out the actual address was the eSTB MAC -1 on the last digit. So if the eSTB MAC is 11:11:11:11:11:12  the actual MAC will be 11:11:11:11:11:11

Once I figured that out I was able to reserve the IP on my router and finish the setup in composer. The driver is much faster than the IR one.

    Hope this helps!
