  1. I am sure there was some way to upload custom wallpaper to the older T2 touchscreens but I can't locate it!

I only have 1 theme available on the screen at it asks if I want to go to the 4Store to download others but then just hangs :)

I can see there is a UI Agent in Composer and a number of wallpapers can be selected but "Apply to.." does not show any of my screens (which are all T2).

All screens are running 2.9.1.549509 and director is 2.10.6.561784

    Thanks

  2. Good evening.

I am having some problems adding my TIDAL account details. I go to the authentication link and authenticate successfully, I get a message back from apps.control4.com saying "Success! Close this window and return to the Control4 app" but the account is not added and I get into an endless loop. Same if I try and do it via Composer. Any ideas? Driver version is 160.

    Thanks

  3. Happy Christmas Eve everyone!

I am trying to find a simple way to get the audio from my TV fed to another zone. I have a Lowe TV with its digital out fed into a Marantz AV7701 which is housed in my rack. As I have a motorised TV bracket its great for viewing from the dining room where I also have ceiling speakers which are fed from my C4 Audio Matrix. I would like to have the option to feed the TV audio to this room and possibly other rooms. I have physically connected the Zone 2 output of the Marantz AV into the matrix and made that connection in Control4 but thats as far as I have got with regards to getting anything working.

    Is this simple to accomplish?

On the C4-amp108 all red lights can mean a power supply problem.  This problem is easily solved by replacing the 220uF 35V capacitors located on the power supply pcb right behind the voltage regulators for + and - 12V.  I also move the voltage regulators to the bottom of the chassis to keep them cool.  If the red lights then do not turn to blue then the amp modules may be the problem.  I am hoping someone will tell me what to do about that.

This is 100% correct - I just replaced the 6 220uF caps in my AMP108 and its working perfectly (for now). On testing the ones I removed only two of them were significantly off value. Relatively simple to do armed with a solder sucker and an iron.

  5. I have installed some motorised blinds in my house which are based on motors manufactured by Neo http://neosmartblinds.com/smartcontroller/ has a C4 driver and works very nicely (so far).

These blinds are zebra type and have three memory positions set on the motor (fully open, intermediate and fully closed). The standard "shades" menu within C4 sends the fully open, stop and fully close commands only so to get it to stop at the intermediate position I have programmed a custom button to issue a 'next up' and 'next down' command which works well.

What I would like to achieve is a single custom button called intermediate that contains the logic of if blind is fully open > send next down, if blind is fully closed > send next up, else do nothing. The challenge I have is there is no way to smartly query the status of the blinds so I would need to set some sort of flag or variable that I can query. I understand this would get messy if the blinds are controlled at any point outside of C4 or if if a blind fails to respond but I can live with that as at night I will be fully closing all blinds or could program some 'calibration' function I guess.

Is this something that is simple to do or utter madness!

Can the default behaviour of the buttons in the shades menu be changed to avoid using custom buttons?

    Thanks

  6. Hello all, I had a slight incident which involved breaking the DB9 serial cable from my Pakedge P20 PDU to my controller :) I have purchased a RJ45 -> DB9 cable but this is not working so I assume the pin outs are different. Does anyone know what the pin configuration of this cable should be?

    Thanks

You would indeed use the room event. Or more specifically a room's variable event.

It's turning back on because room off (- NO audio selection) is a CHANGE in the audio selection.

Hence the need to put in a delay (1 second would likely do).

If you only use it for music, you could stick with what you have, otherwise:

    WHEN {room} powerstate changes
IF {room} is on [turn on outlet x]
IF {room} is off [turn off outlet x]

I'm obviously doing something idiotic as if I use the the above it just just power cycles the amp when the room is turned on or off 😎

    When the variable Kitchen->POWER_STATE changes

If Room Kitchen Room Power is ON

    Set 5 ON on Rack>PDU

If Room Kitchen Room Power is OFF

    Set 5 OFF on Rack>PDU

    I disabled everything else

Thank you thats exactly what I was looking for! Will give that a go thank you

  9. I've got it "working" using the following logic:

When the audio selection changes > set outlet 1 to on

When the room turns off > delay 10 seconds > set outlet 1 to off

If I don't add a delay the amp turns off and directly back on again when the room is powered off.

Not sure if there is a better way of doing this but it appears to work.

It would help to know what the amplifiers are. Do they have auto sense? Do you use announcements? Trigger control connections can be done via a C4 controller and some programming.

They are Crown DSI 1000 amplifiers so no auto sense or any trigger control. Also on the matrix I can't see a suitable event to use to switch the amplifier on for example I can use on the outputs. For example if I use "When any audio setting changes on Audio Output 1" > Turn on outlet 1 on PDU and "When the room turns off" > Turn off outlet 1 on PDU. The AMP will power on perfectly but on room power off powers the amplifier off then back on again assuming because this also qualifies as a "...any audio setting changes...".

What I want is for the amp to turn on whenever there is a call for audio in the room/zone and turn off when the room is powered off. Getting slightly more funky would be to power off the amplifier if the audio is paused for 10min etc....

So I guess the question is what do people generally use as a Room Event to power on an amplifier?

    Thanks

  11. Hello

I have an audio matrix feeding a number of stand alone non-intelligent amplifiers that are powered by a Pakedge PDU. What sort of triggers do you use as best practice to power the amplifier on for a room when there is audio playing and off when it’s not?

    Thanks

No work around try to leave the application opened in the background all the time, I had it working that way.

Thank you. In my case even with the app open the doorstation won’t call my phone. All other screens work fine both me calling them and then calling me. Also I can call the doorstation when in monitor mode and two way audio/video is fine! Just when someone presses the door bell everything rings apart from my phone :-)

  13. I’ve got a system running 2.10.6 with an EA5 as the main controller, a heap of T2 video touchscreens and a DS1. Intercom anywhere is working perfectly between the screens and my phone and I can happily “dial” and connect to the door station and get audio and video. The only thing that does not work is a call initiated from the doorstation rings all the screens but not my mobile device. Is anyone aware of a workaround to this other than buy a DS2 🙂

  14. EA5 fully working order. Rack ears a little tatty and a couple of marks on the front but good condition other that that!

Payment via PayPal only so we are all protected.

Happy to list via eBay also if preferred but cost of eBay fees to be added to the agreed price!

    Please PM for photos/details

Based in the U.K. and open to offers 🙂

    Thanks

    Matt
