I've seen larger homes w more than 1 SPAN panel can't you just do that?

SPAN panels in the same home operate independently.  You cannot create any kind of energy profiles across the panels bringing together circuits across panels.  In terms of energy consumption data, none of it would be aggregated.  You basically see the data as though you have SPANS running in separate homes.  No hierarchy or bundling of panels for operations or consumption data.

That's great news.  My pool equipment is fairly basic, and I'm really just looking for mobile operating control and readout of the current heater temp.  I'd love to see pictures if anyone has how they wired up the z2io for outdoor conditions (type of box) and then how to wire the z2io to the firemans switch on the heater.

Anks329 - can you repost the photos?  Maybe it's just me but I can't see the images.

I'm partial to Enphase because their Micro-Inverters are probably the most reliable out there and they do a good job with their ESS, Combiner and other products.

I clearly see the advantages of incorporating Energy into Control Systems.    The ability to tie in Load Shedding within user created scenes is powerful.  The future

of EV becoming more common place produces a need for efficient charging or discharging EV batteries (Vehicle to Grid, Vehicle to Home).

I'm like a lot of people ..tired of being under the foot of my local energy co-op for high energy costs in the summer only to be bludgeoned by my natural gas provider

in the winter.  I'm serving two Oligarchs when what I really want is my own Kingdom.

100%.  On this it would seem like Savant is ahead of or on the curve.

Yes, you can connect an external temperature sensor to the z2io. I’m using this sensor from Amazon that I’ve plumbed into the piping before my heater. It’s working pretty well so far.

Interesting, how much do prices fluctuate?  I am on a new pricing regime here in Ontario called Ultra Low overnight.  Pricing is as low as $0.024 overnight, but as high $0.24 from 4-9pm.  My solar panels were installed under a (now cancelled) program called microFIT where I just sell my production back into the grid.  There is no netting as the production as totally separate from my usage.

I've seen it as low as .01 during the night and as high as .65 during peak daytime surges.

That's a good point. I can just use the z2io as the on/off control of the heater, and let the heater manage the temperature itself based the setting I give it. Just use a simple button for it to turn on/off the whole thing. Thanks for the suggestion!

Completely agree with the bigger/broader use of pentair's automation. But I only really have the heater and one pump on the pool and nothing else (no lights, water features, bubblers, etc) so I'm not sure if the entire pentair system is worth it right now.

Is there any way to utilize the temperature sensor on a z2io for an external water probe or it simply measures ambient temp and humidity?  I like the simplicity of this solution, but I'd want the readout of current water temp from a probe in the piping.

I have a SolarEdge inverter but I can't really see any purpose of integration with C4, unless you have dynamic electricity pricing are going to do very sophisticated program to do specific stuff at various times, like charging an EV or battery storage.

SolarEdge does have an open API.  I use a third party website called PVOutput to monitor my panels as they give some interesting info.

That's exactly right, I utilize dynamic electricity pricing.

  8. a week in, my remotes are doing great.  one is always kept on charger between watch sessions, and the other is left off charger and seems to last a couple days before getting real low.  feels great in hand, and it is really nice having backlight at night.  I customized the 3 softkeys in composer HE.  Only thing that isn't working is any voice control for appleTV but I blame that on my integrator not being able to figure it out, not the remote itself.  Just a few more weeks and a few hundred dollars for a truck roll and just maybe I can speak to siri from the halo...

You need to be signed in to your Apple ID account on Apple TV and have Homekit enabled on Apple TV.  Set it to never sleep.   You need to assign Apple TV to a Homekit room.  It need not be in the same C4 Room, but obviously easier to keep track that way.   And then toggle Apple TV control off/on in iOS app and it will guide you through adding the Homekit Bridge via Home App.

If still not working, do the Factory Reset driver action in Apple Bridge C4 driver, then enable Apple TV control in C4 iOS app again.

Thank you.  We actually tried all of that already.  Still nothing.  Integrator had C4 on the line and they suggested only thing that could be done now is for them to remote in with integrator laptop on site...2.5 weeks from now.  Maybe at the point Xfinity IP driver update will be ready and we can troubleshoot both.

  10. Anyone have any idea if "find my remote" programming from SR260s can be used on the Halo?  I've got several keypad buttons setup for this on the 260s.  Also, I'm having trouble with the AppleTV voice control.  After switching over from IR to IP driver control, in the C4 mobile app in AppleTV Control i get the following message when i toggle to enable control: Unable to complete Apple TV integration.  All software versions up to date.  Does the room selection in Apple Home impact this?  I hadn't tied together Apple Home to C4 until Halo arrived.

Other thoughts: I would like to see the center button in the directional buttons act as the C4 button to bring up the on screen menu.  Are there any other customization options for room wallpapers or screensavers like on T4s?

clearly you don't have young kids...haha...

I don't agree with either of you...not really consumable but not really 10 years...

I have (3) SR-260s each about 5 years old.  #1 doesn't have a functioning screen - at all #2 the battery doesn't last more than 5 minutes off the charger #3 has been kid beat up and dropped and is cracked in about 7 places.  Definitely consumed products over here, but I wish I got longer on the two non kid related ones...

I’m going to install it after Thanksgiving and check it out.

Just throwing this out there. $275 MSRP- Not cheap.  Given that the driver interfaces the project with the carrier website, we’re relying on Carrier to keep the API active.  I’ve seen a lot of drivers using this type of interface (to a website) stop working because the manufacturer stops supporting the api.

I’m sympathetic to the economics for the developer.  I’m going to look at a trial and consider it, but I may be priced out.

I don't remember what I threw away on the Driverslab version, $150? maybe $200?
