Kwikset SmartCode 914 Zigbee?

Hello everyone, I purchased a lock with a yellow zigbee chip that is c4 compatible, it currently works in my system and been using it for 5 months now. I bought two new locks and these came with the red zigbee chip. I've read the red chips are the "OEM" c4 chips, but what is the yellow one? a previous version maybe? What is the difference? Thanks,
