PSA: Apple TV tvOS 13 killed my remote programming

I understand all of the above (I also upgrade to 13...). Ok for now to use the Apple remote, but why does the AppleTV HS keep going into sleep mode and not wake up when I hit select or menu in apple remote? When I unplug and plug AppleTV back in I can use it but then it goes back to sleep when I leave it works a while.
