Make sure none of your amazon devices have the same name as any of your rooms. If they do then volume commands will change the volume of the amazon device but not the room.

Yeah, I've made sure the names are unique enough. Also, I've monitored the Alexa volumes while trying this just to make sure. Do you think it could be a hardware thing? I have a EA5 and matrix amp

Our Control4 system started having connectivity issues yesterday out of the blue. The controller won't connect to the remote or mobile app, streaming media connected to it won't play, etc. It seems to be an issue related to our network. Rebooting our router (an Xfiniti xFi Gateway) takes care of the problem temporarily, but within 10 minutes or so, Control4 disconnects again. I've done some research online and it looks like it may be an IP or DNS related issue, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I had a similar problem with my system that was troubleshooted in the following thread

What ended up working for me was setting the DNS settings in my main router to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 instead of automatically determined by my ISP (Verizon Fios in this case). After rebooting the modem followed by the router and C4 controller everything is working good again.

    yes, reboot it

Ok, rebooted, and can now log in on the app. Unfortunately, the control is not much better. I can control through the app, but only after force quitting the app every time I want to change something. Also, still no control via Alexa and no internet music streaming. Perhaps that’s a OS and driver issue then?

    Thanks again for your help!

  4. Hi,

I started having issues with my C4 system a few days ago where my C4 IOS app (OS3) stopped working reliably. Most of the time I use the app it takes forever to load the project. Once it loads, none of the listen/watch functions work. I also can't control volume or quit any of the existing sessions. In addition, as I'm using the app it randomly reloads the project and the watch/listen icons sometimes randomly disappear leaving only the settings icon.

I originally thought this was just an app issue, but none of my Alexa scenes work either, and when I try to connect to the system with ComposerHE it quickly connects and disconnects from the director.

The only way I can reliably connect to the system is using the Zigbee remotes, but even then, my internet radio streams like TuneIn periodically stop working.

I've tried rebooting my EA5 and uninstalling/reinstalling the app at least four times each.

I've reached out to my dealer, but he runs a pretty small operation and has been swamped lately with big installs. Hoping someone here may have an idea as to what's going on. My director version is 3.1.1.569774-res and my 4Sight subscription is up to date. Also, I’m getting ~900Mbs/s up/down via ethernet so I don’t think that’s the issue either, although I did have to recently hard reset the cable modem in the house.
