I would recommend changing your network DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

I tried changing the DNS, but the problem persists. Anyone else have this issue? or do I just switch to another automation platform or add SONOS? Hate to walk away from the matrix and amps, but this problem has gone on long enough and I cant seem to resolve it.

It is still possible that the climate control system of the room is the issue.

A reboot could solve that issue, as well...

    :)

Also, if the amps are on top of each other, or at the top of the enclosed cabinet, 'localized' heat within the cabinet could still be an issue, even if the room is climate controlled.

Just saying it's something to still consider.

The room runs at a Temperature of no higher than 26 degrees (78F). The case also has a thermal probe as there is some other advanced equipment in there and it is currently reading 30 degrees (86F).

Also, it would be good to know if it's the amps or the switch, or the controller that is cutting out.

You could split off the output from the controller going into the switch, and from the switch into the amp, and record them, which would let you know where the audio is stopping.

If it's not a thermal issue, I would assume that the audio stopping is coming from the controller, which streams the audio, as opposed to the matrix switch or amp, which operates on the audio streamed from the controller.

That would make sense - but I am not technical or inclined to try to work through this part of it. I assumed this might be a common issue here and someone may be aware of what the most likely cause is. I would suspect you are correct on the controller (which is an EA3) but was hoping someone would say this is common and you need to do something like [insert choice of fix here] to resolve.

Are the amps getting hot (in an enclosed or not very well ventilated space)?  I would think that cutting out and coming back when playing for a long time sounds like it could be a thermal issue to me.

I don't understand how rebooting would solve the issue, though.

They are within an enclosed case but it is a fully ventilated case within a AV room dedicated for this purpose. The room has its own climate control system as well. As such, I am comfortable it is not a thermal issue.

Hi msgreenf, I have no idea what that means to be honest. Are you able to explain what the underlying issue is? asked differently, what problem is changing those DNS settings going to solve? Because it is an intermittent issue, I had assumed it would not be a logic type problem that could be solved with changing something such as DNS settings. My basic google search of DNS sounds like routing, which I don't understand how this would cause an intermittent issue. The routing is either right or wrong but not right only sometimes. Maybe I don't follow the technical aspects well enough here.

    Any clarity would help.

  6. I have a whole home audio system with C4 that when streaming Deezer to a single zone or multiple zones it eventually starts cutting in and out and when it cuts out it can last up to 20 seconds and then comes back in but only for a second or two. It is not a network issue or internet issue as other services such as video conferencing, streaming, etc all work just fine. The C4 issue happens often at least 24 hours after we start playing the music (we leave it on all day for the dog). It never corrects itself and it requires turning the system off and back on. This seems to correct it for a full day or two and then we repeat.

Anyone have any views as to what is causing this?

    Related Equipment:

    • Triad TS-AMS24 Audio Matrix
    • Triad PAMP8-100 16 cannel amp
    • Triad PAMP4-100 8 channel amp

Our dealer has been less then helpful (just reboots it and tells us it is our internet - which makes no sense as it would correct itself when it speeds up if it indeed slowed down). Given there are a number of forums dedicated to this type of topic, and I cant seem to find resolutions, I figured I would try again.

I am not a technical person in this world so wont know network language. I suspect it is a glitch in the hardware but that is my uneducated views based on logic based on the symptoms.

    Cheers,
