Jfizzle
I have an 8x8 Matrix (C4-8x8HDMIVSW-B) in a rack in my Theater Room. It is delivering audio/video to (1) the Theater Room TV directly by HDMI, and (2) to 6 others TVs by HDBaseT baluns. It also delivers audio to some outdoor speakers and some indoor in-ceiling speakers. After a power outage, I can now only get distributed video from the matrix on the Theater Room TV; and on that theater room TV I can freely switch to other video sources that are in the rack. I can also receive audio (analog I assume) through the outdoor speakers and in-ceiling speakers from any source. But I have no video or audio from the matrix on any TV that has a balun. I also see that the Living Room TV, which used to have a wired ethernet connection from the balun behind it, no longer has wired ethernet access. I swapped that Living Room balun out with one that I know works and the problem persisted. I rebooted the whole system and the problem persisted. I later unplugged just the matrix for about two hours and plugged it back in. I then had a few seconds of video coming on the Living Room TV which has a balun, and then the video went away. I also see that the TVs on baluns are not cycling between HDMI sources when I select Watch -> another source whether using the remote controls or the C4 mobile app. Someone logged in remotely and the system looks fine. I wanted to see if anyone had an idea of where the problem might lie (the video matrix? the I/O extender) or had an idea of something else I could try? Next step if I can't figure this out with remote help will be to bring in a tech to the house and do the covid mask dance.
mujtaba.khokhar
Has anyone calibrated the video matrix for you? it might not be the solution to your problem, but it's worth a try. I think you can do it via HE, can't remember though. I do know the baluns go faulty i have several of them lying around holding doors open lol & when you say not cycling this points to network, but again without knowing your whole setup id be unsure to even suggest that. Jfizzle
I’m thinking IO extender or network or some combination with the remote control processing, let me know what you think about this condition: The living room TV is an LG Smart TV, it has Netflix and Amazon apps on it. When I use the C4 remote to view the EA-1 I see all my sources. When I select Watch -> Netflix the Netflix app does not launch. But I see the EA-1 screen shows “Netflix Now Playing” in a bar at the top.
mujtaba.khokhar
That sounds like the IP of your LG tv might have changed which is why the apps are not launching. Are you able to control the LG tv? Jfizzle
@mujtaba.khokhar You were right. When the LG TV switched to wifi because the HDBaseT was no longer supplying wired ethernet, it changed IP addresses. I changed it back to its reserved IP and can now power the Apple TV 4k and power on the TV. The c4 remote no longer allows navigation around the appletv guy, and it still won't launch the netflix app but at least I can power stuff on. I'll be getting someone local to roll out here soon. Thanks everyone.
mujtaba.khokhar
Depending on which driver you're using you can keep the TV on WiFi. its the Annex one, have to have at least LG WEB OS 3.5 If you want, PM me and i can log in and take a look at things for you Thanks M
