Wyze PTZ Camera not connecting after power failure!

Recommended Posts

We had a brief power outage last night for about a second, today I found out our Wyze camera would not connect to C4.  I have the custom firmware installed and while I can see the device from ping command, but it would not let me bring up the web page by typing in the IP address - connection refused.  I ended up resetting the camera by holding the SETUP button and got the Wyze app setup on WiFi again.

I can see the camera image now through Wyze app, but I can't update to the latest firmware through Wyze, I probably shouldn't do that anyway!

I went over to the custom firmware, follow the instructions to install the firmware with a MicroSD card, it seems to go through the motion but I still can't access the HTTP page from a browser - connection refused.  I can't tell if I have the custom firmware installed but Wyze app can see the camera.

What else can I try?  I think the camera is okay but something is not running 100%!  At this point, I can't see the live footage from C4 app.

Much appreciate your help on this,

Your sure after the power cycle and the factory restore that the IP address didn't change? Proabably just didnt DHCP reserve it properly, power went out and the IP address changed which is why C4 cant see the camera anymore. Now that you restored it you may have a lot more work to get it going again. Either make sure it has the same IP as before or tell your dealer the updated IP address so C4 can talk to them again. Make sure you set them for DHCP reservation or for Static so the problem does happen again next time the power goes out.
