When my house was built ~12 years ago, at the advice of my C4 installer, I had this equipment installed (it was the only option they knew of at the time that would work with a 3H/2C heat pump system and also C4):
- Honeywell W8835A zone controller
- Honeywell W8703 zone expander
- Honeywell TH9421C1004 thermostats (5) ("communicating" thermostats)
Then on the last C4 software upgrade, I was told that the system was no longer supported by C4. So now I'm looking for a thermostat upgrade that will replace the ones I have. I see that the Honeywell model RTH9585WF1004 are currently on sale, and that the C4 drivers are readily available, and the documentation states that they are 'communicating' thermostats. My question is, will they work as direct replacements for my current TH9421C1004 thermostats, without having to replace the controller board?
