IR isn't working for C4 driver or own driver...

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have an odd problem in that no IR signals seem to be working.

So far I have used the Onkyo TX-SR508 C4 driver (with that receiver!). I have also created an IR driver for my Toshiba TV (it has RS232 but I haven't gone in search of the codes yet).

The buds are emitting and I have tried positioning the remotes in the same location which obviously works fine.

I have also tried capturing the codes for my own driver in the dark and using the outputs on both my controllers and the IOExtender - all with the same result!

Am I missing something obvious!?

Thanks,

Gizmo.

Yup, double, treble checked.

Going to try a few different positions, I can't think of anything else it really could be!

Thanks.

IR can be an annoying beast... it works well but you need to properly identify where the IR bud should go. Also some devices having the lack of discrete codes can be painful too.

I'd start with trying to find the right spot that has the IR port and start there and keep trying and moving it. I've had issues with my Xbox 360 and still do, even though the IR sensor is as clear as day to spot.
