HDBase-T extenders

Quick question -- do these type of extenders use a dedicated (direct run) Cat5e cable to pass a signal or do the units just pull from any ethernet (home network) connection? Just tyring to understand how they would need to be hooked up.

Either

If you are using an existing ethernet run and want to maintain an internet or 100baset connection then make sure you buy the extender that also extends 100baset.
