AJF
The HTC has a serial connection but no DB9 connector, can you hook up a Sony 777 to it? Do you lose any functionality compared to having a DB9? Do you need an external hard drive to store cover art?
lvs
You have to cut one end of the DB9 off, tie TX/RX/GND to the 3 pins on the HTC connector block. This is a full functioning 2-way serial connection, functionality is the same. No, cover art is stored on the HTC.

RyanE
And if you purchase the 777 through Control4 (if you're a dealer), it comes with the serial cable already cut off, and labelled for how to hook it up.RyanE
