identifying a 10.5" touch screen

I picked up a 10.5 " touch screen from ebay and am trying to id it in a 1.74 system.

I cant get it to connect to the director, I entered in the IP address of the controller but I cant get it to ID, any tips to get this thing into my system??

Also does anyone have a link to the manual for one of these

Is your touch screen connected to your wireless network.

well it is getting an IP address so I assume it is

Is the 10 inch on 1.7 also? ( it will tell you somewhere under settings)

Can you ping that ip from your pc?

If so, if the identify button is not working, try typing the ip on the identify page, rather than pressing the button, ( although I'd use a permanent ip, rather than dhcp)

Worst case senerio, I've had to USB restore my 10 inch a few times.

Given you don't know what mess it might be in, might be an idea.

Ok I found out it wasnt connecting to the network, after I played with the network settings I got it to connect and then updated the software to 1.74, everything came up fine.

The only thing is it seems to lose its connection to director on occasion as I get the reconnecting to director msg, is this normal?

Under settings you should see your network strength.

On version 2.x it shows in the top corner on every screen, but cannot remember if that was the case on 1.7

Again, if you have a poorly configured network, you could have issues.

I'd set with a permanent ip outside of our dhcp range.

Also I hated my 10 inch on 1.7, rarely used it. Since going to 2.x it's been faster and more reliable, plus looks prettier.
