Digital audio volume drops to very low levels

I was wondering whether anyone has seen any circumstances where the Digital Audio volume level changes to be very low.

 

I have an HC800 and HC300 connected to a C4 amplifier. For a period the audio works fine but then for some unknown reason the volume drops to very low levels and I then need to turn the volume up very high to hear anything.

 

I know its not the amplifier as if I switch to another audio source (such as a tuner) the volume is fine and I need to turn it down in a hurry, also powering off the amp and powering it back on makes no difference.

 

This affects announcements, digital audio music (CD rips) and rhapsody.

Just rebooted the HC800 and all fine now, but it does happen every three or four weeks or so, would be nice not to have to reboot it each time to fix it.
