query
I picked up a variable attenuator from Winegard and hooked it up to the FM roof antenna input into the Control 4 receiver. The quality of the FM reception improved remarkably, with the hiss from certain stations eliminated. Now if I could just figure out how to improve the AM reception and remove the "whine" on certain stations. I bought a Terk AM Advantage antenna, but neither this, nor attachment to a roof antenna has provided acceptable reception. I am curious if others have had quality issue on AM reception and what has been done to address it. I almost think it is a hardward issue with the receiver.... punkrock
ground loops. try an coax piece with a ground loop filter. you never know. and/or try to isolate the power supply maybe a small ups just for the tuner.
lippavisual
If all your equipment is located in a rack for example, then its going to be really tough to get AM to sound decent.
