acontento
Received a new HC-800 yesterday to replace crapped-out 1000v2. Big yellow paper states very clearly that controller has 2 versions; supposed to be running 2.6 and is restore-able to 2.5.3. However it is running 2.5.3 out of the box, problem is I do not have ComposerPro 2.5.3 anymore and I can't figure a way to get this thing registered and updated to 2.6 or 2.7 or 2.8, the 3 versions I do have. I am not a dealer (I was for several years several years ago), but I am a member of the SDK partner program so I an privy to ComposerPro but I do not have a link to get it!! So.... 1- Is there something I can do to get this thing up to a version I can support? OR 2- Is there a way I can download ComposerPro 2.5.3? Thanks...Anthony Contento
knowitall
Doesn't matter what composer you use. Just connect to it, add the 800 and register it then update it then program it
acontento
When I first connect I get "Driver connection failed. Adding and updating drivers and loading or saving projects may not function correctly. This can occur when connecting to older controllers. Would you like to continue anyway?". Naturally I say 'Yes', then I get what is in the attached pic. I click 'OK' go to Tools-Update Manager and I get this: ===== Error: No update versions could be found -- possible causes may be that this system has not been registered on http://my.control4.com and can not be updated or this system does not have a valid update license Unable to obtain update authorized version information from the web interface at url http://services.control4.com/Updates2x/v2_0/Updates.asmx error is 25 fault = Empty. Parameter name: length ===== As this controller is NOT registered I go to Register, but I cannot register because it is not Identified in the project, when I try to add the driver in the project I get "Devices cannot be added to pre-2.6 controllers using this version of Composer" Looks like someone just sent me link for 2.5.3.....more soon! acontento
So with ComposerPro 2.5.3 everything went perfectly. It is worth noting that once added and registered the Update Manager in 2.5.3 wouldn't even show the updates available even the the message in the bottom of the window expressed that there were 2 updates available, once I started 2.7.2 and connected I could perform the update.
