Lutron Grafik Eye ...

Loosefix

Recommended Posts

I have a client with 2 GE and 3 keypads... all linked by belden cable. If I introduce a Lutron QSE-CI-NWK-E RS232 IP/TCP device does this then work nicely with C4 over IP... or will I need a third party driver?

The GE’s are QSGRK wireless models I think. I spoke to Lutron and was told I would need a RadioRA main repeater and a bridge.... don’t think this is correct.

Thanks all

I have seen on the dealer forums that the driver for the NWK interface got broken a while back, not sure if it has been fixed yet. A RA2 main repeater would certainly do the trick (have to use serial for the time being due to an issue with Lutron's latest firmware spamming the network port which locks up the Control4). You wouldn't need the Connect Bridge unless you wanted to have Lutron app control as well as Control4.

Thanks Unsocialtoaster... great info. Can anyone on here clarify if the NWK driver is still broken?

So t was told the Radio ra main repeater will only communicate wirelessly? so what do I do
with a wired keypad? Or can this be left to control a single GE scenes 1-16?

Too many variables with lutron!!

I have a similar situation on my end. I have a conference room set up and got called in to integrate everything to Control4. Should I just go with a RA2 repeater and plug it into this Grafik Eye unit and access all the programming through that? I've done Ra2 systems but integrating it to control a single grafik eye is something new for me....any ideas?

You can only bring in a RadioRA2 main repeater if the Graphik Eye is a QS wireless, and then communicate via Clear Connect. If the GE is not wireless comm, then you can run an IR to the front or back and control it that way. Codes are available from Lutron directly, and you can make your own driver if you can't find one.

Ex-Lutron rep, saw this more than once.

Yes, definitely, it's a Graphik Eye QS wireless and controls the lights (and shades) i think. See attached.
So what are the steps to link the Graphik Eye to the RadioRa2 main repeater?? Is it hard wired from the Graphik Eye to the RadioRa2 repeater?? What's the schematic for something like this?

16E should be a commercial model. You'll need to go IR, the main repeater won't be able to connect. That wireless is limited to the sensors, Picos, and wireless shades. You could also go with the NWK, but I was strictly resi on the spec side, so am unaware of he exact parts and pieces required. Lutron Tech can tell you what you need and/or give you a link for the IR codes.

Awesome, I spoke with Lutron, they said that this would require the QSE-CI-NWK-E interconnect which has a RS232 and Ethernet connection. But not sure how it "actually" integrates into a Control4 system. Are there going to be drivers for this that allow us to trigger the Graphik eye loads?

There are 3 C4 drivers for the Graphik Eye. Make sure to pick the one that is not Homeworks (HW) or RadioRA2. I believe there is an aftermarket driver for these via serial, but can't remember where.

So I ended up ordering a  QSE-CI-NWK-E and it turned out to be too complicated and Lutron or C4 couldn't help me. So I just went with IR control in this situation. Not what I wanted, but I had to provide a solution somehow, since it was promised..
