akg4y
I plan on having a HTPC in my basement on one end of the house as part of a video distribution, and was also planning on getting at least one of the following remotes:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823172020Basically it is wireless air mouse + remote that works over RF. The distance from my family room to the HTPC will probably be too much for the RF to work directly so is there a way to have an RF receiver in the family room which transmits the signal over a wire to the basement where there is an RF emitter? thecodeman
It connects by USB, right? You can extend USB up to 5m for full speed devices. You can do it the "tacky" way and plug in usb hubs and more extensions for a maximum distance of up to 30m. However, you can use USB over Ethernet, which is what I would do. And if you're a DIY kind of guy...http://www.instructables.com/id/Usb-Dongles-for-USB-over-CAT5-connection/Or buy one.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817707150
