CFUG
Not really a question but just an experience with a faulty dimmer. This thing had some strange probs to begin with (CHE shows it's ON when the load is OFF and cycling from ON to OFF by itself). Well, one day this thing really went crazy and took down Zigbee so that nothing worked at all- no lights, no AV control, nothing. Dealer and I agreed it was the dimmer and it was disconnected from the mains. Zigbee comms came back immediately and all was well.
RyanE
Sounds like the Zigbee radio went nuts. That doesn't happen very often (I haven't heard of a verified case in a couple of years), but I'd imagine it's certainly possible.RyanE
CFUG
^This thing is evil! Will dealer send it in under warranty? Is it worth investigating or does it get binned at C4?
RyanE
If it's still under warranty (should be a 2 year warranty if it was purchased within the last couple of years), the dealer can send it in under RMA.When items are sent in under RMA, Control4 does do analysis to determine what the root cause is to try to avoid this sort of thing happening again, assuming they're able to recreate the problem with the dimmer after it's returned.RyanE
CFUG
Got it. Age is about 1 month old. Should see it soon if dealer chooses to return it.
