Trying to setup/control new TV via ethernet

I've installed a new Samsung TV and am trying to set it up to control via ethernet. I followed the setup notes and entered the wired MAC address into Composer. I've enabled the IP Remote on the TV's settings and followed everything else. When I click 'Pair with TV' under the Actions tab, I never get the notification on the TV to allow the pairing. I've disabled IP Remote and re-enabled it but no change. I double checked the MAC address too. I turned off HDMI-CEC. What else am I missing?
