rocco1901
I've had the 310 for a few years. In the beginning I had a big issue where i had to reboot every couple of days because of DNS errors but fixed that by changing the DNS servers to google/cloudfare. I recently had a couple day internet outage and tried a whole bunch of stuff including factory resetting the gateway. My internet came back on randomly but now I am back to DNS issues even with the manual DNS settings. The weird thing is the only way to get connectivity back is to take my comcast gateway out of bridge mode. I can then put back into bridge mode and it continues to work but every day or two i completely lose connectivity. Anyone ever come across something similar? msgreenf
Has your firmware been updated recently? There are specifically some sittings that I'm thinking are fixed that might help in the firmware update
rocco1901
Yeah. I updated the firmware that but that hasn’t helped. Thanks for the response
chopedogg88
Do you have any Sonos players in your system? Could be the dreaded Sonos network loop if so. Or could simply be an IP address conflict wreaking havoc on your network. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
rocco1901
I do have Sonos players in my system. I think they are tied into Control4 but I really only use them through the Sonos app. What’s the best way to test if that’s my issue? chopedogg88
I would make sure everything is connected wifi, nothing via ethernet. That's one way to eliminate it.
rocco1901
Thanks. I’ll try that. I know I have at least one Play Bar that’s connected via Ethernet. I’ll check the other Sonos speakers too. I appreciate the suggestion.

Is there an easy way to figure out if an IP address conflict is the issue?
msgreenf
Check firmware for updates on router
macosr
Dumb question but are the DNS settings on the router setup properly… https://www.snapav.com/wcsstore/ExtendedSitesCatalogAssetStore//attachments/documents/Networking/SupportDocuments/Araknis310DNSResolution.pdf

macosr
Let me add one more thought that could apply here. You may have an issue that is more up-stream that only shows intermittently that is causing network issues which may include DNS errors. I have personally had an issue with a cable modem service that ended up being an intermittent problem with the coax cable itself between the street and the house that would cause issues with the cable modem. It took me one week to figure it out but the issue I was having would be intermittent. The way I diagnosed the issue was when the issue would arise I would immediately connect a computer directly to the cable modem (via Ethernet) and would run various ping tests and traceroute tests. Ultimately this is how I found there was an upstream issue that was intermittent and would cascade. The ultimate solution to the problem I was having is the cable company pulled a new cable and all the issues went away.
rocco1901
Thanks macosr....firmware and DNS updated. I actually was wondering if it was an upstream issue myself but when I test with a laptop connected to the cable modem via an ethernet cord, I still have connectivity even when everything else is down. That's what led me to believe it has something to due with my Araknis 310 router. Really frustrating. Its seems to be working fine when I have bridge mode disabled so for now I'll just leave that even though it feels like a suboptimal solution.
