hunger Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I have been pulling my hair out trying to get the WiFi to work on a 10.5 V1, a 10.5 V2, and a wireless 3.8 touch screen, all to no avail. I enter the SSID, the encryption (none/64/128), and the password if encrypted, and I never get a signal or a DHCP-issued IP address. I've tried no encryption, WEP 64, and WEP 128. I've tried B only, B/G, and B/G/N. The WAPs I have tried are on the hardware compatibility list (Linksys WAP4400N, WAP4410N). I have a lot of other equipment, none of which have a problem. I've tried to find the manuals but have not had any luck. What am I missing?
AVHomeInstalls Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Maybe try a different SSID name. I've seen bugs in wireless nets with odd named SSIDs, WEP passwords. Make sure the router/access points are broadcasting the SSID on the right B or G network. Can other B or G clients connect, such as notebook, iphone etc.?
JR Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 if using wep the password produces a key which is used not the password
hunger Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 Thanks. I am using the hex key that is generated from the password and other devices are able to connect, including a Windows PC, a Mac, and an iPad. To provide more background, There are three WAPs in all, two WAP4400N devices and one WAP4410N, all on different channels. Two of the three are b/g/n using WPA. The third is the one I am using for Control4 as described above.
tinytom Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Had the same problem with my 10.5. The SSID is case sensitive and needs to be identical to your router. To fix mine I just had to capitalize the first letter of the SSID.
