HookedOnC4
If you move is the C4 system plug and play after you get to the new location? Would be a new Internet carrier.
dannyboy
If you are using the same router/switch - it should be OK.If you are using another carriers router, they may have a different config for the internal ip ranges....some use 192.168.x.x, others use 10.x.x.x If you have static ips configured and the alternative range is configured on the new router then IP devices will not talk to each other...If this happens, keep your old router, so you can access the devices and change to the new IP range as required. EagleMoon
All the devices that were statically configured to be on the same subnet with each other at the original location will still be able to talk to each other even if your router is set for a different subnet. To talk to each other they don't go through the router if they are on the same subnet, so the router address is irrelevant. However, they won't be able to reach the Internet because they won't be able to talk to the router which would now be on a different subnet. And none of your devices that were set to use DHCP (like your computer running Composer) will be able to talk to the statically configured devices which are on the former subnet. And even if your new router uses the same subnet, it might have a different address in that subnet -- some default to the ".1" address, some default to ".254". Statically configured devices have to have the correct router (Default Gateway) address. All of that stuff needs to be right for everything to work like you expect. It's not hard, but you need to get it right. The easiest thing is if you can use your old router. The second easiest is to make sure any new router has the same address, subnet and DHCP server configuration as the old one.
HookedOnC4
Thanks, all equipment will go so that is good news...hopefully last stop and then I will go crazy with more C4.
nikon
One other thing. If none of your devices were statically configured all devices will get new IP's and be able to talk to each other if configured with UUIDs so a new router won't matter (unless it is a flagged one which can cause some issues).
