tbear1
The pre-wiring will begin shortly on my home. The wiring 'package' for distributed audio that is provided includes a volume control in each room. Is this needed and/or recommended if I plan on using C4? Based on my understanding of the C4 audio features, I don't need it. Thanks,Glenn
superikey
You really don't need it if each room will be on a sep zone.
MTB Luvr
Although you might want to add a keypad (2 or 3) in each room. On 3 the middle to toggle source and vol up and vol down buttons. It's nicer than busting out the phone.

You could always do it be zone control but that's usually for a party which is another situation all together. So again while that could be nice for an unlimited budget, having an extra remote to use around the house would probably get far more use and is going to be less costly. Thanks,GlennIt is true you don't need the volume control, but I recommend to run a cat5 to each zone and leave it behind the drywall so you have the option of installing a keypad or touchscreen if you so desire later on. The speaker runs will then go directly from the speaker locations to the rack location as there is no need to run it to a volume control. You can run individual 16/2 speaker wire to each speaker location or as I prefer to do, run a 16/4 to one of the speakers in the zone and jumper to the other location with a piece of 16/2. tbear1
Thanks. I had all of the speaker wires run directly to the rack. Glenn
