hike
It appears my stat battery died while in process of heating. (my guess)When I came back from a 4 day vacation room was 87 degrees. What would could should have prevented this? The screen on the stat was blank. I swapped it out and it communicated fine.Email notification?Physical redundancy of some kind?Separate thermistor? ichbinbose
you could have received an email if you had a ihiji monitoring system in place, otherwise it would be tough to know there is a problem, especially if your not home.

servpro
Had this happen twice. For some reason my stat wasn't receiving power. After the battery died it always seemed to be locked on heat mode. Luckily I was around for both times it died.Problem: Power only from battery, not hardwired.Solution: Check to make sure you are receiving power from one of the wires in the back. Michael C
I was a little nervous to click on that post title....What is being said above is true. We do not recommend that you use power stealing. Although convenient, power stealing tends to cause A LOT of issues.
