  1. Check out the av path setter driver.

We had this problem. Control4 was prioritizing the digital audio from the tv (which fed the matrix for smart tv apps) instead of the 2 channel audio extracted from an hdmi matrix switch. Sometimes the OS was selecting the audio from a TV in a different room that wasn’t even on. It smells like a bug.  Av path setter driver resolved it. Steep learning curve, but no problems since we set it up.

If control4 is listening, this should probably be setup as a default priority in the OS. Thinking a simple default audio source/ prioritized audio pathway would make sense. For example, a family room and a kitchen both have TVs. One satellite box prioritizes digital audio for surround into a receiver, a second prioritizes 2 channel audio so the audio in the family room and the kitchen are synced. Not sure if that makes sense…it’s late and I’m tired. Not expressing technical thoughts well at the moment.

For those of us that have been asking for this driver for many years I am happy to pay the $275. I know for some that is too much but it takes financial incentive to write drivers like this.

If Driver Central will warranty that the driver will be functional for 60 months, I’d buy it tomorrow too!

The economics have to work for the developer I agree. They also have to work for the customer.  $275 and it interfaces directly to the thermostats (not the carrier website)- I’m a buyer.  Dependent on carrier to continue supporting the API?  I’m relying on Carrier to keep the driver functional which could change at any time. I’ve seen too much, or I’m too cynical…

  3. I’m going to install it after Thanksgiving and check it out.

Just throwing this out there. $275 MSRP- Not cheap.  Given that the driver interfaces the project with the carrier website, we’re relying on Carrier to keep the API active.  I’ve seen a lot of drivers using this type of interface (to a website) stop working because the manufacturer stops supporting the api.

I’m sympathetic to the economics for the developer.  I’m going to look at a trial and consider it, but I may be priced out.

  4. We switched to IR control of the TVs, but we have the TV's connected to wifi.  Historically, I saw the network connection drop offline (hard wired or wifi) after about 2-3 days.  After the last firmware update, the update that didn't address the connectivity issue per the post above, the wifi connection stayed online.  I haven't updated to the latest firmware but I'm getting prompts.

IR control has been great.  It just works... I expected the IP control to do the same, but hopefully it will get fixed soon.

    iOS or Android?

The notification indicating the old app is being retired is what I was after.

The new app named "Carrier Home" or something else?

iOS. Carrier home- looks like a much better interface than the old my infinity app.

looking forward to hearing more about the new driver when it’s ready.

Carrier app uses the same API that we are developing against and use. Just lots of nuances to account for and develop against.

Are you able to prove the info indicating a new app is coming? Updated iOS app with some new features was released yesterday.

I opened the old my infinity app and it prompted me to download the new app and alerted that the old app was going away in august. I downloaded the new app about 15 min ago. The new app seems to be connected to my thermostats, but I don’t know anything about the new features.

I’m not sure what you mean by proving the info indicating a new app.

I have a TV with a digital optical connected to the Triad One. The TV has no stereo output. I want the audio from the tv to go to the rest of the audio zones on a C4 Amp. Can I use the stereo out on the triad one to the input on the Amp? Is this the best  possible way?

    Thanks!

Might be easier to use a digital to analog converter, and double bind the RCAs into the Triad one and the other audio matrix.  Get a converter box that powers with USB, then use the USB on the back of the Triad one to power to the converter box.

  8. I'm dealing with the same issue.  I converted the TVs to IR control via a plug anticipating going back to IP control when stable.  We tried using straight DHCP, DHCP with a reservation, static IP, wired and wireless.   It wasn't reliable and my wife was about ready to rip out the whole damn system.  Used a Cat5 balun- quick and easy wiring swaps- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IXZRXAS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sony recently upgraded firmware on a couple A80Js and they seem to be staying online- available for screen mirroring on my iphone.  I'm not in a hurry to make a change back to IP, but we'll see what happens over time.

  9. I used a foscam camera and then bought one of their cheap NVRs to pipe the signal into the HDMI distribution into the TVs.  I only use it for video, and I rely on a traditional audio only monitor (Philips Avent if it matters) to monitor if she's crying- it works great.

The NVR is a pain in the ass to setup.  It's not user friendly at all but I got it working.
