  1. SolarEdge (http:// http://www.solaredge.com) seems to be a popular solar generation monitoring system with an API. Is anyone interested in creating a driver for it? It would be great to know when lots of solar energy is being generated and then trigger high energy use equipment.

One such use would be to charge an electric car when solar power is generated. Renault have an API for My Z.E. which allows for starting charging.

  2. I had been looking at the Triad audio hardware (particularly the 24 zone audio matrix/switch and the 8 zone/16 channel amplifier and Triad R20 in-ceiling speakers). However, having run out of money after a house-build (which has holes in the ceiling and cables for speakers...) I am looking at secondhand alternatives. One option I have found does not specify the equipment model numbers but includes a Control4 multichannel amplifier and some other equipment (see attached picture) as well as lots of speakers. The speakers are QInstall Qi65C. Can anyone comment on whether this would be just a waste of money on old equipment?

Also, the bundle comes with speakerpoints - I have speaker cabling back to a central location where the amplifier would be - I assume I can just ignore/on-sell the speaker points?

Thanks very much for your help!

    Sorry been away on work.

Are we sorted or do you wish to give me a call ?

Can confirm I can not use the Texecom App while we are using Control4. It will not generate a number for the Texecon App  login

Thank you - I think I am clear for now. Was there anything tricky you had to do to get the SmartCom to connect to Control4 after using the app or did it just start working with the Control4 driver immediately and dropped the app functionality?

    Thank you

  4. Yes - thank you! Also consistent with a call I just had this afternoon with a Texecom support and I just hadn’t had a chance to post yet - the SmartCom will allow for app control OR Control4 interface but not both. If you want both, you need to install both the SmartCom and the ComIP.

I would like app control initially before the C4 system is set-up so I think I go for the SmartCom and then can swap to using C4 only later.

    Thank you

Sounds like you're talking about our Advanced Custom Buttons driver (not the Advanced Announcements which you posted in).

This driver will not replace the home screen but can be accessible from it.  If you only have a single guest service then it will pop up in the circle of power as an individual item.  If however you have more than one guest service then it will appear under the service icon in the circle of power.  So it will either be two presses to activation a button or three.

Yes - sorry - when I moved from Tapatalk (which won’t let me post at the moment) to the website, I accidentally picked the wrong forum. Thank you - this is helpful. Two button presses to get to a menu is probably okay for some of the buttons so I don’t need a big hard panel. Thank you

  6. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am planning a new C4 project and want to have several buttons near where a 10” T3 touchscreen will be. Can this driver be used to create custom buttons which show as the home page for the T3 when the screen is touched? If so, I wouldn’t need the physical button panel and could just use the touchscreen. My wife would hate going through menus though so if it cannot be the home screen, it doesn’t work for me.

    Thanks

  7. I have been trying to find any product with a water shut-off valve which work in the U.K. which works with Control4 - I have looked at the websites for the five mentioned above and have contacted Damit and Watercop but none of them serve the U.K. market. It is a fairly straight forward and not expensive process to have the valve tested and approved for the U.K. and nothing else would need to change so I don’t understand why none of these companies have done it.

  8. We may do invixium for our wine cellar.  They are joined with Hoppe to do the first C4 controlled multipoint door lock. Very cool but also $$$$ see http://www.us.hoppe.com/media/wysiwyg/PDF/Keyless_Electronic_Multipoint_091614.pdf Rest of the exterior doors will be Baldwin - I wish we could customize the finish to match the rest of our baldwin handelsets.

Where do you see details of C4 integration/a C4 driver for this lock? I have been planning a motorised multi-point lock and we're looking at an ekey fingerprint reader which could be integrated into C4 but a lock that is natively integrated into C4 would be better. Thanks!

4KUHD - 2 x Oppo 203 (one local fed back to rack via JAP and one rack distributed out) - C4 has a IP driver

HTPC/Streaming - required sources - Netflix 4k HDR, Amazon prime 4k HDR, Vudu HDX for ultraviolet; required audio - Atmos if available; Need two of whatever we go with as three adults and child in our home

    1. Roku Ultra - has universal search, easy to integrate, only atmos thru Vudu, ethernet. How easy is it to navigate between apps or enter using HR260? Can the C4 app on an ipad/iphone/android  or can the TS be used to enter text for searching?

    2. HTPC - I have a current 1U rackmounted HTPC - this would need to be upgraded for 4K HDR and HDMI 2.0a/b. No universal search. Control thru USB dongle. Kodi or Plex.

    3. Bolt + OTA - I'm in Canada so only the OTA version is useful for me. I cannot find control options/driver using C4? The OTA is not 4k ready ie is not ATSC 3.0. It has Ethernet and universal search. Has all the streaming sources including plex for backups.

    4. Kaleidescape  - best hardware and polished on screen display, no streaming, no TV shows, not all the studios yet, cannot play backed up sources

    5. NVIDA shield - has universal search - ? voice only; has all the sources. I cannot find control options/driver using C4?  How easy is it to navigate between apps using HR260? Can the C4 app on an ipad/iphone/android or can the TS be used to enter text for searching?

Given cost does not appear to be a primary concern, I am not sure why you wouldn't go for a Kaleidescape system?  If I were you, I would buy a cheap secondhand kaleidescape system and trade it in so you get grandfathered DVD rights on a Premiere line Kaleidescape system and add a Strato - this way you would have all your DVDs and blurays (which I assume you mean by "backed up sources") and access to the download store (which is getting better and better) and 4K on the Strato with the benefit of a single system which gives you the most flexibility now and in the future.  Depending on how large your movie collection is, you can decide on the right storage capacity for you.  You can also add a Roku Ultra for streaming other TV shows, etc.

    Just my 2 cents...

  10. I am thinking about the design for a Control4 system in our newbuild house.  We have never had Sky before (we have always used Freesat) but I am looking for simple and comprehensive integration so the family don't complain or get confused.  I am wondering whether this driver is the best route to TV integration with Control4 in the UK so I should buy Sky as a result.  Or is there a similar Control4 integration for a Freesat box?

    Thank you

  11. Alan' date=' whatever they pay you, it's not enough.[/quote']Amen.

    Tell my boss that j/k.

Anyway drivers almost finished. Just need to fit development around my project management / integration duties.

Are these drivers available? I tried emailing RecluseAV who I thought had published them but hadn't heard back so perhaps I contacted the wrong people. We are planning to have an ekey reader in our new front door and wanted to integrate it into Control4.

    Thanks!
