  1. Thank you for the tip. I've turned it all the way up for all the T3's and my one T4 but my T4 plays it so quietly that if I don't have the speaker up near my ear (it's the tabletop version) I can't hear it at all. Any other ideas?
  2. Ok, I did a test. If I select a SirusXM station, it will switch to that same input (I've labeled it the C4 Input) and it plays. When I'm done listening to Sirius, I just tap on "Computer" under "Listen" which is my normal/default listening device as I always have the computer audio on 24/7 unless I happen to be watching/listening to a different source. That all works fine. I can switch to the Roon input and it will automatically switch to my Roon Ready input on my StormAudio, I can play Sonos and that works, etc. The only problem is when it makes an announcement, it switches to the C4 input, which is the same as the SiriusXM input, then puts the StormAudio to sleep instead of switching back to the Computer input. I'm happy to do more testing or provide more information. I just don't know where to go from here. I agree that the Snapshot driver shouldn't be needed, but even though I'm using it, it still isn't working so there is something else going on. I'm an end user and my dealer has no idea how to help me. I have Composer HE so I am limited with what I can do, but if there is anything I can check in Composer HE, please let me know. I'm not familiar with room binding or where I'd look in Composer HE for any of the settings that might affect this, so if you could point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
  3. When my T4 8" touch screen plays announcements, the volume is so low I have to put the speaker up to my ear to hear it. The volume is turned all the way up. When the same announcement file is used on my T3's, the volume is very loud, so it's not the file and it's not the volume. When the T4 plays other audio, like when doing an intercom session between it and another touchscreen or a Chime doorbell, the audio is loud and clear, so it's not a physical problem with the speakers in the T4. I'm stumped. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
  4. I've tried and tried to get the Snapshot driver to function correctly, but keep getting the same results. Every time it switches to the C4 input to play an announcement, as soon as it is done it powers off my AVR instead of switching the input back. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.
  5. So I need to add a delay of some kind? I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by breaking up motion detections? If you could clarify both of those points, I'd greatly appreciate it. The problem is, even with it set up this way, as soon as the announcement plays, it turns the AVR off instead of going back to the previously used input and keeping it on. I don't know what I've done wrong, either before using Snapshot or with Snapshot to cause that behavior? Thanks for your help, everyone.
  6. Ok, I installed the Snapshot driver and set it up and it's still doing the same thing. Motion detected, then it switches to the input the EA5 is on and plays the announcement, then it switches off instead of back to the original input it was on. Attached is a screenshot of my settings. What do you think?
  7. Yes, I did. The pop up text is set for the T3 touchscreens and works fine. It's just that once the audio announcement switches to the EA1/EA5 controllers to play it, when the announcement is finished, it turns the TV/AVR completely off instead of back to the last used input.
  8. 3.3 / newest OS. Yeah, in the Master Bedroom, it just turns the TV off and in the theater it turns the pre-pro off instead of switching back to the last known input. But I think I'm missing something because how would it know what input it was on and what to switch it to? I didn't set any of that anywhere. All I set was if motion detected play announcement/text - that's it. Do I have to do something to get it to switch back to the last used input on all the TV's/AVR's in the house?
  9. I figured out how to get it to select a specific input when finished playing the announcement, but this isn't what I want. For instance, if I'm watching DirecTV and motion is detected, then it should switch to the EA1 input and play the announcement then switch back to DirecTV. But if I'm watching a Blu-Ray and motion is detected, then it should switch to the EA1 input and play the announcement then switch back to Blu-Ray. But I can't figure out how to get it to switch back to the last used input and instead can only figure out how to get it to select a specific input. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Hello, I'm new to C4 and Composer HE and am having a problem with an announcement I created. I created an announcement for when motion is detected at the front door via the Chime it will display text on the touchscreens and also make an audible announcement from a WAV file. In programming, I selected the Front Door Chime motion sensor event and set it to execute the announcement. This works, but as soon as the input is changed on the TV to the EA1 input to play the announcement (and also in the theater, the StormAudio Pre-Pro changes to the C4 input on its EA5 to play it there), as soon as the announcement is finished playing, the TV (and the StormAudio in the theater) turns off. I need the TV and StormAudio to both go back to the last used input and NOT turn off after the announcement, but I can't figure out where to set this or how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. I am in the process of integrating Josh.ai into my system. In fact, I just unboxed my first Micro POE and got it set up last night for the first time. I'm just trying it in my home theater right now, but if I like it, I plan to deploy it throughout the house. The first thing I tried after setting it up was asking it what time it was, and as soon as I heard the answer, I knew there was a big issue. I have the volume up as loud as it will go, and have the Micro sitting only two feet away in my home theater, but the responses just aren't loud enough and really don't sound that good. I'm used to the quality and loudness of the Amazon Echo Show that sits right next to the Josh Micro, which is what I'm currently using, but hope to transition to Josh.ai ASAP. I want to have both the Josh.ai feedback and Control4 announcements come from my main theater speakers, at least the two main stereo speakers if not through all channels. I'd like some kind of audio ducking if it isn't too hard and doesn't add too much cost to whatever solution I end up needing/using so I can hear announcements and ask it to do things when a movie or music is playing. I'll also need a similar solution for the great room and master bedroom once we deploy Josh throughout the rest of the house. I see there is something called VoiceCast that works with Sonos, but I don't have any Sonos products. It's not clear to me if it works with anything other than Sonos products. I use a dedicated Control4 EA5 in the home theater, a dedicated Control4 EA1 in the master bedroom, and another dedicated Control4 EA1 in the great room right now. My pre-pro in the theater is a StormAudio ISP Elite MKII 24 channel model, but I'm using all 24 channels and really don't want to use a separate speaker anyway. What would be the best (and most cost effective) way of having both Josh and Control4 feedback/announcements integrate with my StormAudio pre-pro and existing speakers so I can be watching a movie or listening to music, but if someone comes to the door, for instance, my Control4 Chime can make an audio announcement and either overlay it on whatever is playing (at a reduced volume level for the currently playing content) or pause whatever is playing and then make the announcement? I don't know for certain, but I don't think an HDMI matrix would be the way to go because of the time it would take for the input switching, especially when doing something simple like asking Josh what time it is or what the weather is and expecting an instant answer. Other than that, I really have no clue what to do or where to start. Any help and suggestions as to what my options are, how this would work, and what I would need to buy would be much appreciated. If you're a dealer for any solution that comes to mind, please feel free to contact me directly at "jevansoh at gmail" or reply to this topic. Thanks, --Jason
  12. Thank you, everybody. I think using Airplay via Sonos for the outside pool area zone will probably work best. We're not picky on the audio quality outside as it's just going to be background music so this should work great. I'll report back when I get everything set up. Thanks again!
  13. One more thing. You mention you use your computer to control Control4. I've been researching this, too, and the only way I've found to do this is to use a program like Bluestacks or some other Android Emulator program and do it that way. Is that how you're doing it or via another method? Thanks again.
  14. Thank you both so very much for your input and suggestions. It is much appreciated. I'm glad to know that about the Sonos zone. That's actually going to be our outdoor pool area zone and we definitely want to sync that with the Great Room audio as you must go through the Great Room to get to the pool area and a lot of people are always going in and out. Now I'll have to research alternatives. Wish I would have known before spending $200 on a used Connect, but live and learn I guess. I'm glad to know now before wondering why it wouldn't work! We don't care about the audio quality or anything like that outside as it is just background music during "party" mode, so to speak, so I'm hoping there is an inexpensive solution that will work. If either of you know of one, please do let me know. I didn't know the interface would be different on C4 vs a computer/cell phone so I'll check that out! Thanks!
  15. If anyone can offer some input on my last two replies, I'd really appreciate it. I'm not sure if I understand everything correctly and need some feedback to let me know if my plan will work or if I'm still missing something. Please see the two posts directly above this one. Thanks, --J
  16. Hello, We were able to solve the problem. The AVR is a new model Denon S960H mid-tier AVR. The AVR has two monitor outputs. The first one is 8K capable HDMI 2.1 and the second monitor out is 4K or 1080P I think. The HDMI cable that runs to the TV was installed in 2006 when the house was built, so it is quite old and can't easily be replaced. It's also probably 50' long. When we switched the HDMI cable to the Monitor 2 output (lower resolution) on the AVR, the problem went away and we're all good now. It appears as though this had nothing to do with C4 and would have been an issue whether C4 was integrated or not. Thanks for the support, --J
  17. Hello, I purchased one Josh Micro (Black) and a one-year 9 room subscription from someone on the forum that decided to not keep Josh. Nothing has been set up yet, although the license has been transferred to my account, I believe. I'm looking for a dealer that can sell me two more black Josh Micro's and do the setup, integration with C4 and all my devices, and assist with setting up scenes and getting everything working with my overall setup/configuration in 3 separate rooms. I'm looking for a quote for this and am ready to make the purchase. Please contact me with instructions on how to purchase the two additional Micro's and give me an estimate to get started in setting everything up. Thanks, --J
  18. I do have one more question pertaining to the Control4 driver(s). On the Roon website, it says the following about the Control4 driver(s): "There are two drivers: the Roon Core driver, which uses several AVSwitch proxies and manages the connection to the Core, and the Roon Zone driver, which uses the Media Service Proxy (MSP) and Amplifier Proxy to manage a single output device." So which driver do I need to use? Or do both need to be installed? How would these need to be configured for the scenario I used in the previous post directly above? Thanks, --J
  19. Thank you so much for your input and assistance. I'm not quite sure I understand everything yet, but after reading your post and doing a bit more research, I'd like to propose a plan for deployment of Roon to 3 zones and see if you feel I'm on the right track and if it will work this way. First, I need a Roon Core. I can either use a dedicated computer/server that's in our equipment rack and is always powered on or our NAS for that. For the main zone, I will use my StormAudio ISP Elite MK2 which is Roon Ready Certified. I will use the Control4 driver along with a Control4 tablet to browse the Roon GUI and select a song or album and play it to Zone 1, which will be the StormAudio to play to the speakers connected directly to the StormAudio. For Zone 2 (Great Room), I will use a Denon S960h, which is Roon Tested. I will once again use a Control4 tablet to browse Roon and select a song/album to play to this Zone 2 to play to the speakers connected directly to it. For Zone 3 (Outside), I will use a Sonos Connect Gen2 hooked up to an old Denon AVR which has no Roon support. I will once again use a Control4 tablet to browse Roon and select a song/album to play in Zone 3 (Outside) to the speakers connected directly to the old Denon AVR. I will be able to either select a different song/album for each of the 3 zones to play at any time in any zone and can have 3 streams, one to each zone, at the same time, or I can "Sync" a song/album to play on two or all three Zones at the same time so no matter which room we're in (or outside) so we can walk from area to area and the music will be synced. By doing it this way, the only thing Control4 will be used for is the Roon GUI/interface, but nothing having to do with Roon or the audio streams will actually run through Control4. Do I understand all of this correctly? Do I need any other software or hardware or have I described it well and should it work this way? Thanks again for all your help, and hopefully I understand now and it will work this way for me. Please let me know if I've made an error. Thanks again, --Jason
  20. Hi, Our dealer has been trying to get our Denon S960H receiver set up and working with our Amazon Firestick, with everything being integrated into Control4, but we're having a problem. When using either our cell phone or the SR260 C4 remote and selecting to Watch the Amazon Firestick, there is no audio. We have to switch to DirecTV and back to the Firestick a few times before the audio works. but the video shows up the first time and always works. We've tried different HDMI cables and that hasn't helped. He's stumped and I've been trying to help research it but I am coming up empty-handed, so I thought maybe someone here could help. Thanks.
  21. Hello, I'm brand new to C4 and our install is happening as I write this. Due to the expense of all the hardware purchases and dealer costs to install everything, I cannot afford T3 or T4 touchscreens right now. I'd like to use an iPad and a few Amazon Fire HD tablets to use as an Intercom and to interface with the C4 Chime Units I'm having installed so we can answer the door and unlock the door from one of the tablets. We also want to use them as Intercoms between rooms since our family is spread apart throughout the home and on different floors. I understand that Intercom Anywhere was deprecated and can no longer be used with OS 3.3. I also understand that only the iPhone has built-in Intercom support. Through my research and searching on this forum, I've come across posts that state by using another app called Linphone, I can get the Intercom functionality we desire on the iPad and Amazon Fire HD tablets, but I'm not sure of this and need confirmation this will work. I'm using OS 3.3, if that makes a difference. I cannot get the Intercom icon to appear on any of the tablets, so I'm not sure how using Linphone will work. I'd greatly appreciate some info and advice from anyone who has successfully set this up. We want to use dedicated tablets for each room for all the Intercom features, to view our security cameras, answer/unlock the doors, etc, until we can afford to purchase T3's or T4's and we're hoping a solution using these inexpensive tablets exists, even with a workaround, until we can afford to upgrade. Thanks for your help with this.
  22. Thanks so much for the info and assistance. I have a StormAudio ISP Elite MKII, which is Roon Certified. So I can use that with Control4 for the theater. But is there any way to use that device to also (or instead if it can't do it in the theater and another room at the same time) send Roon audio to either the living room or master bedroom where each of those two rooms has their own EA1 controller? (The theater with the StormAudio has an EA5 controller.) Or would I have to have a separate Roon Certified device for each of the other two rooms, as well? Thanks again.
  23. I’m not yet a Roon customer but am interested in becoming one. I have a Control4 EA-5 and two Control 4 EA-1 controllers. I would like to use Roon in 3 different rooms, the 3 rooms with the 3 controllers mentioned above. Will the EA-5 and EA-1’s act as the Roon Core by themselves or do I need additional hardware? I’d like to be able to use a touchscreen or my phone, select a song, and play it on the audio system in any of the 3 rooms or even to all of the 3 rooms at the same time. Do I need any additional hardware to make this possible? Do I need a special Roon plan of any kind in order to be able to stream to 3 devices all at the same time or is there just one plan for everything? If anyone has any tips or ideas/tricks worth exploring, I’d love to hear your comments. My goal is to set up a Tidal account, set up a Roon account, and simply use the C4 interface’s to interact with Roon and play to any (or all) of my 3 rooms controlled by C4. Thanks for your help!
  24. I'm interested in trying Josh.ai in my home theater but my C4 integrator isn't Josh.ai certified. I've read the hardware is $599 for one Josh Micro and another $599 for the cheapest license. But since I have to find a Josh.ai certified integrator and can't use my regular C4 integrator, I'm curious as to about how long it would take to integrate one Josh Micro w/ my C4 setup in my home theater so I can try it out for a while before deciding whether to deploy Josh.ai throughout the rest of my home? I wonder if I can get by with just the two $599 charges or if there is a lot of time/programming involved, too, which will cost extra? If anyone has any input, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
  25. Ok, great to know. Thanks! If anyone reading this has any rack ears for the EA-5 V2 you can sell me, please let me know. Feel free to email me directly for fastest response at jevansoh at gmail. Thanks again.
