IP Cemera's

Hi All

I am thinking about setting up my IP camera's system on a pc and building a DVR using icansoft cctv software or something but then C4 made me wonder if i need to do that

does the c4 act as a dvr or will it just display the images from the IP camera's and not record them?

C4 does not act as your DVR. It will only allow the cameras to be displayed if you are using cameras that are compatible.

Sorry camera's i was thinking that i could install some camera's and a dvr or build a dvr and then add it to C4 in the future so they can be viewed as and when needed.

These guys make a fairly inexpensive NVR that works with most ip cameras that control4 supports

some IP cameras that are comptable are Panasonic, Axis, Planet, Channel Vision, Mobotix. Also EV has a camera solution that includes many additional options

note that not all models of the listed manufactures are compatible.

here's the solution I use, with mixes cameras and has a driver for C4.

It will use a mac to record the cameras.

I did try the trial and it worked really well as a stand alone app. Add a bunch of cameras that arent natively capable with control4 for some more selection in camera hardware.

only thing i didn't like about this software is it doesn't have the greatest web interface to view camera feeds. As well as a native iOS/android app.
