eded9698
Control4 will be discontinue the HC-200 and HC-300 as of the end of August. Or while supplies last.
DawnGordon
Unless we get something from another company, there goes the ability to use 3rd party remotes with Control4. Very sad.
turls
Can you elaborate? I don't recall reading much here about 3rd party remotes. I'm not super-thrilled so far with my C4 remote vs. my old Logitech Harmony. I thought I had to give up Harmony pretty much completely in a C4 environment. Is that not the case (for now)? CFUG
^^Yeah, that is a loss and one I don't understand fully. 300 will live on as a "receptor" of legacy IR here.
DawnGordon
The legacy controllers (anything except the 800 and 250) had the ability to receive IR commands from a third party remote such as a Pronto, URC, RTI etc to execute Control4 commands and programming. Effilctar
Extra Vegetables has in IP IR receiver and driver.http://extravegetables.com/products/kira
DawnGordon
I bought an extra HC-200 just for this purpose. But going forward, the Extra Vegetables device is a good solution.
CFUG
^And right about now you can say that purchasing a used 200 or maybe even a 300 is cheaper than a Kira and a 3rd party driver.
