cannemi
Keep this in mind 1. What is purpose? Do you want motion detection? Do you want to record?2. Do you want Poe? If you have a Poe switch this is the way to go cause all you need is cat5/6 to camera3. Do you want ptz? If you don't want to pan/tilt/zoom then then price will go way down4. What is your price range?

jeffik18
planning on having 4 cameras outside around the house. Motion sensor and recording would be great. I have cat5 ran to each camera location. Bullet camera thats fixed in one position would be fine. I would say 150-200 each cam

cannemi
They do work I am a big believer of "you get what you pay for" In my opinion I would spend more on the security camera's, but your budget is your budget. You also need to decide how you are going to record all this. Not sure if you have a solution in place nowThere are other solutions, but I am not familiar with those.
