panamagixxer
Life is never easy My WHS died so I bought a NAS and was hoping I could name it the same as the old WHS and C4 would find my media. No luck, I assume I need to have my dealer come out or dial in?
qVAMPIREp
Just set it up like the old one in ComposerHE. I have 4 NAS's attached and it's as easy as can be to map them. No dealer required for this simple task.
panamagixxer
So I don't know how to do it, a little help?
panamagixxer
To add a new storage device, have your Control4 Dealer add it to the Composer project and configure it for your use.The network address of the Controller which is used for your MP3 files is \\<ipaddress>\media\audio where <ipaddress> is your Controller's TCP/IP address (for example, 192.168.0.100). To copy MP3 files from your PC to the Controller, open that directory in your Windows Explorer and copy the files to a directory in that location. After the files are copied to the storage location, use the Media view to select the storage device, and then select Scan to add them to your Media list.Customize, if necessary, the metadata for the newly-added media. Cyknight
To make this a bit more complex...there is more than one way to map a NAS in composer. IF you can match the old IP and network name exactly -case sensative (and subfolder) and use the same user and password (if applicable) you might be able to do this w/o a dealer.panama, what you refer to is a drive attached USB to a controller (you'd also want to go to the usb folder under media) or the internal storage on a 500 or 1000 (or MC if you go further back).Do NOT try to write to that folder on any other controller, you're loading it's internal flash!
