upgrading from embernet

i had some old switchs/ dimmers laying around and i went to install them today and upgrade them and i put the controller into embernet and try to upgrade,

but one device wont give me a address to upgrade it...they literally sit next to each other in a two gang box, one upgraded and the other one wont recognize

Are you sure the one in question is on embernet? Just do a 13-4-13 and you'll know. If not - I see little choice but to either bring a controller closer or bring the device closer to the controller.

Perhaps it's stuck on a different Zigbee channel than your current mesh frequency?

It may be defective or pro. Do a 13/4/13 top/bottom/top and see if it responds. If so then its pro.

That's a good point. Just recently, I had the same situation- 2 devices in a different room than the controller. One took the other didn't until I moved it closer to the 300.

how would i know this, and how would i fix this?

7T/4B/7T on the device. Check current channel in Composer Pro. If the device was in-range of the controller it won't matter but you could do a 9/9/9 just to try.
