Luis Guilherme
Does anyone knows if have any problem to use any motorized screen with the hc 800 relays?Does it possible to have a short circuit from it?I`m asking that cause my local dealer told me that i should buy a 12v power source to connect to hc800 relay then to my motor!!!! It doesn't seen right for me, cause i think control4 should deal with that without problem!!1Any thoughts about it????
dogdvr
The HC800 can provide the 12 volts needed for the screen, some people still prefer to have a seperate power supply.
LSDave
by using a separate 12v supply you avoid any risk of damaging your controller. Altho i have used the 12v from the controller as well for some screens.
Cyknight
Note the relay (and virtually NO relay) supplies 12v, or any voltage. It IS possible to steal the 12v from a SENSOR on the 800 and use that power. However that output is counted in a few milliamps so it certainly is possible that that won't be enough - that would depend on the screen. This is only if the screen is actually controlled by a second relay, for instance a high voltage relay. The controller is NOT meant to have 120v run direct through it's relays. Now it's possible to use the relay on a screen with dry contact closures, in which case the SCREEN will be supplying the voltage - in which case no powersupply is needed at all. Luis Guilherme
Thanks everyone for helping me.I decide to use dry contacts because could be safer... and i think it will work!!!
