Letran
I'm in the market to adding and replacing my light switches and dimmers. Is it as simple as adding and switching my current Legacy lighting products with the Nex Gen? Do I need the panelized modules to make the Nex Gen Switches and Dimmers work? Can I pair a Legacy keypad with a Nex Gen Dimmer?
DawnGordon
Yes, just switch out the old dimmers/switches. On the software side, your dealer will need to do a bit of reprogramming. The panelized lighting is designed for major re-models and new construction. You can easily mix and match legacy lighting and new lighting. Cyknight
To be clear, there is the new (3rd) generation of lighting AND there is panelized lighting - two completely different things. And yes they and legacy stuff can all play together in one system
dogdvr
With the exception of the Gen3 auxiliary keypad, it can only work with Gen3 devices
Cyknight
Ah yes, correct, that is really a companion piece to the newer zigbee lighting (dimmer or switch) - although you could still tie that piece to a new dimmer and have other lighting devices in the house - that piece in fact isn't part of the programming at all really. Good to know
Cyknight
Keep in mind that the aux pad is also NOT back-lit nor is it a zigbee device (so no parenting/repeating) - it really is intended as a cheap option.
