Lighting Control

The LightwaveRF lighting control range covers all the bases for both retrofit and new build applications. All dimmers are screwless and are available in the popular metal finishes. Uniquely just like standard dimmers you can fit up to four dimmers in a standard double back box. No neutral wire is required either. These dimmers can control incandescent and halogen lighting and dimmable LEDs. The latest 400 series dimmers are specifically designed to work with the low loads associated with LED lighting. A two channel dimmer has a retail price of £65. Intermediate switches can be replaced with LightwaveRF slave dimmers without altering existing wiring.

Power Control

Another unique feature of the LightwaveRF range are controllable UK power outlets. These have the same switching capabilities as the regular outlets and are available in 1 gang and 2 gang variants. Not only can you control these outlets via the Control4 system you can also lock them so that they cannot be controlled locally. Ideal for disabling sockets in kid's bedrooms at night! A double socket as shown above has a retail price of £40.

What's the catch?

LightwaveRF is a one-way system. This means that it is not possible to get feedback into the Control4 system. However this does not mean that this system should be discounted as there are still many situations where it is ideal.

Minor Rooms
Kid's bedrooms, guest rooms, utility areas and stairwells are ideal locations. Installing LightwaveRF enables you to extend the scale of the installation and provide automation from the Control4 system. Features such as all-house off, night modes and welcome home modes can all be automated using LightwaveRF and Control4. Don't forget the power control possibilities too. Although there is no feedback, control is discrete - so if you set lights or sockets on, off or to a level they will respond regardless of their current state.

Developers
LightwaveRF is ideal for developers. No special wiring is required and the decision to install the system can be deferred to second fix if required. It is by far the simplest and cheapest form of lighting control that you can install. The LightwaveRF mood switch is great for apartments as it enables Entry and Exit scenes to be programmed across the entire home.

Automation
Any activity where automatic rather than manually control is required is ideal for LightwaveRF. Disabling sockets is a good example, it doesn't matter if there is a UI showing if a socket is on or off what is important is that you can automate that socket and disable it from manual control. The reverse of this idea could be used for light switches in situations where during some periods of the day you don't want them to be switched off.

No other product range comes close on the pricing of LightwaveRF. If your customer wants control but doesn't have the budget for a full centralised lighting control system then you should both seriously consider this system.
