Mute Function

Dealers- have a question regarding MUTE (audio prohibition) symbol.  Does this show at any other time besides deliberately selecting mute?  For example, I think I've noticed whilst adding zones the add-on initially is muted.

I've seen it wrongly display mute on some receivers that have mute toggle only but also unmute on a volume change, but beyond that it should only display it if the system thinks/knows something is muted.

Your example is normal enough as C4 amps etc are muted on zone off, so system knows it's muted, turns mute off and then takes a second to update the screen.
