zaphod
I have tried using several handheld devices (an iPod Touch, a Blackberry Bold and a Dell Axim x51v PocketPC) to connect to my.control4.com. While I can generally get to the login screen and enter my password it seems that I never get any web navigator functionality. Why is this - is this because these browsers can't run certain modules (like Java or ActiveX) to control Web navigator? Or is there some other more ulterior reason (i.e. C4 doesn't want this to work as it would reduce demand for their remotes).By the way - is there an iPhone or iPod Touch application that allows you to use this device as a C4 remote of some sort? I think this would be a fantastic functionality addition for C4.
thecodeman
It's probably the browser's inability to correctly display the page. I dont think it's some kind of secret motive to sell more touchpanels. In regards to your second question, yes there is an application in development.http://www.c4forums.com/viewtopic.php?id=2463http://www.control4.com/company/press/2008-9-4-iPod.htmhttp://www.c4forums.com/viewtopic.php?id=1906&p=
sjj31a
go to www.skyfire.com and download the beta browser for windows mobile devices. It works perfectly (also allows you to view youtube etc on your pda. Much easier to install also (no brainer).
thecodeman
I have used skyfire, it's pretty cool. However I noticed that after updating to WM 6.1 on my Moto Q9H, I can view Youtube in Windows Media player (not sure if it's related or something youtube has done). zaphod
I tried it again and it kind of worked on my iPod Touch - I was able to log in but when I tried to control some lights in crashed. But I could swear that I didn't even get this far in the past.
